Called the "Historic Rose Garden" because the lineage of the roses dates back to Biblical times and the "War of the Roses", this unique garden is the first of its kind in Colorado. Featuring roses ranging from historical to modern, this garden includes two east-west pergolas for climbing roses and a beautiful fountain pool with surrounding sitting wall.  Rose varieties include: Alba, Bourbon, China, Centfolia, Damask, Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Musk, Noisette, & Hybrid Rugosas.

Fairmount Cemetery boasts over 300 roses of at least 59 varieties, many of them from the 1800's, which are seldom seen Old Garden Roses.  The botanical beauties continue to be preserved through the Botanical Illustrations Program offered at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  Stroll through the cemetery and view these beautiful roses!
